Square Enix Has Trademarked Something Called Deus Ex: Human Defiance

February 27, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

Gee, I wonder what that could be about…

It's perhaps safe to say that, given the success of Deus Ex : Human Revolution, that many who enjoyed that game have been patiently wondering for a sequel. It's been almost two years since its release, which is fairly recent in the grand scheme of things.

But given that its publisher is Square-Enix, who likes to put out one lousy Final Fantasy sequel after another, that's actually a decent chunk of space and time. So the aforementioned fans might be interested in knowing that a follow-up is indeed in the cards. Maybe. Hopefully.

A denizen of NeoGAF has just discovered a very recently submitted trademark, for something entitled Deus Ex: Human Defiance. Fingers crossed that it indeed a sequel to Human Revolution. And while we're making wishes, let's also hope that the boss fights aren't outsourced this time as well.
