Speaking to Rock, Paper Shotgun, game designer Tim Schafer talked about a few things he'd like to add to Brütal Legend when the PC version is released.
"I mean, we have a wishlist from when we made this version. But since we are a small developer publishing it ourselves, we have to go with the best version we can make and then hope it's successful so we can add more. I would love to do alternate gameplay modes in multiplayer. I’d like to bring in Lionwhyte as a playable faction. There are some tweaks I’d like to do to give you more feedback about what your units are doing."
The studio Double Fine has recently asked for funding on Kickstarter for an unrelaked adventure game, and has received over $3 million dollars for it from almost 90,000 backers. This is well over the $400,000 they were asking for, so the studio has certainly the cash to do a lot more right now.
As for the game itself, Brütal Legend suffered the sad fate of many games by failing commercially, but was actually considered a good game and has a bit of a cult fanbase. There was also quite a bit of a legal situation regarding the console releases, but Schafer still is apparently very passionate about the game. Here's hoping that Double Fine's future forays into the unique world of Brütal Legend fare much better.
