Star Wars Pinball Later This Month, Courtesy of Zen Studios Of Course

February 5, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

Luke, may the Force be with you… as you attempt to get a Sith Jackpot.

Zen Studios is a name that should be familiar to all pinball aficionados. At least those who are willing to accept the virtual replicas. A large degree of their familiarity stems from all the different licensed properties they've utilized. Everything form Marvel Comics to various PopCap games; there's even a Ms. Splosion Man themed tabled for those who are into Xbox Live Arcade games.

So it was only a matter of time in which Star Wars was tapped into. And that's exactly what's happening; later this moth, three tables will be available, and for pretty much every platform: the Phone/iPad, Android, PlayStation Vita/PS3, Xbox 360 and PC/Mac:

The iOS and Android offerings will be stand-alone games, while Star Wars Pinball will be in the form of DLC, for Pinball FX 2 on Xbox Live Arcade and Windows 8, plus Zen Pinball 2 on PlayStation Network and OS X.

The first three tables being offered are themed around Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, the animated Clone Wars, and one entirely dedicated to Boba Fett. Each will have its own unique layout and theme; for the Empire Strikes Back table, there's even footage from the movie, displayed in dot matrix format, like real pinball machines often do.

There will be 10 in total, though final price has yet to be revealed.
