Pixel-Powered Hack ‘N’ Slash Children of Morta Receives New Trailer

August 18, 2017 by Katrina Filippidis

Defeat the nightmares, discover the truth.

Dead Mage has announced a collaboration with publisher 11 Bit Studios (This War of Mine) for upcoming rogue-like, Children of Morta, and is celebrating the event with a new gameplay trailer. Children of Morta tells the nightmarish tale of the Bergson family, guardians of a once peaceful mountain that’s being strangled by tendrils of corruption.

To vanquish the swarms of grotesque monsters, you’ll be playing as six different characters, each of them featuring unique combative styles and personal quests. The mystical atmosphere never fades thanks to procedurally generated skirmishes within forests, dungeons and temples, and of course, the drive to solve the underlying riddle—what is the source of the corruption?

Children of Morta releases for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018. Fans of pixellated RPGs can add it to their Steam wishlist today. It will also be playable at Gamescom and PAX West along with Moonlighter and Frostpunk.

If you backed Children of Morta on kickstarter, you should have access to an early build of the game already.
