EA Details Dead Space 3 Pre-Order Items

December 3, 2012 by Holly Green

Here’s what you’ll get when you reserve your advance copy.

Planning on plunking down some pre-order cash on Dead Space 3? Today Electronic Arts has revealed the exclusive bonuses available when you reserve your advance copy, detailing two bonus weapons, each packing quite a bit of heat.

Players who buy Dead Space 3 from Gamestop will receive the EG-900 SMG, an "EarthGov-issued sub machinegun built for urban warfare…compact but deadly, sporting an internal hyper-accelerator maximum damage". The Tesla Enervator, yours with a purchase from Amazon, is described as being developed by Sovereign Colonies "from an overdriven focus coil to 'humanely' eliminate dangerous specimens" and "[delivers] a precision blast causing instantaneous electrocution and molecular destabilization in the target". There is no word on whether these will be up for seperate purchase at a later date, or whether they'll be included in the yet-to-be-announced (but inevitable) Collector's Edition.

Dead Space 3 will feature "drop in/drop out" co-op, a first for the series that promises to add to the narrative of new character John Carver. The game is due on February 5, 2013 in North America on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. A release in Europe will follow on February 8.
