Steam Release Date For Karateka Remake Announced

December 1, 2012 by Holly Green

Get the remastered version of this classic for your PC next week.

Starting next week, Steam users can get their gaming thumbs on the remake of 1984 beat 'em up classic Karateka, released on Xbox Live last month. The remake, which features an all new art style (under the direction of famed comic book artist and animator Jeff Matsuda) and three playable characters with three different endings, will come with an ebook about the development of the original, entitled The Making of Karateka: Journals 1982-1985. This tome, a copy of Mechner's journals from his time developing the original Karateka, will also be available as a hard cover book for seperate purchase at a later date.

Pick it up for your PC starting Monday, December 3 for $9.99, with a 10% discount available the first week. PSN, Wii U, and iOS versions, originally slated for November, are expected sometime soon.
