Xbox One S Prices Slashed in Lead Up To Scorpio Reveal

June 11, 2017 by Katrina Filippidis

Get in quick.

With the excitement of E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) finally upon us, Microsoft is celebrating with a very special discount on its Xbox One S console, at least for players in the United States. Announced via a tweet, Microsoft is making its latest premium console slightly more affordable by taking $50 off the price for a limited time only. The discount will be effective starting June 11—so if you’re awake, that means right now.

While Madden NFL 17 (1TB) and FIFA 17 (500GB) bundles are already sold out, 1TB Forza Horizon 3, 1TB Battlefield™ 1 Special Edition and 1TB Halo Wars 2 are all slashed to $299 USD. The price cuts come just ahead of Microsoft’s unveiling of Project Scorpio, allegedly the successor to Xbox One S and a competitor to Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro. Previous rumours have suggested that Project Scorpio will be $399USD at launch, but Microsoft’s keynote presentation—which you can tune into at 2pm PT or 5pm ET today—will confirm the official price.
