SimCity Disaster Guide Explains How to Deal With Emergencies

October 15, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Maxis explains what you can do to handle disasters, should they strike your city.

SimCity Disaster

As promised, EA Maxis has put together and released a new trailer of the disasters the studio has implemented into the upcoming SimCity, which stands as the fifth game in the long-running series of city building simulations.

The new trailer showcases the disasters you’ll encounter throughout the game, which are poised to offer you challenges unlike any you’ll experience. In SimCity, natural disasters happen randomly, and include meteorites, UFO abductions, earthquakes, and tornadoes. Unless you’re well prepared, these disasters are capable of reducing well-crafted cities into rubble and wreckage.

The trailer shows how the various disasters can wreck your city, with examples of what not to do, and what to do in the event of an emergency.

SimCity is set for release early next year on both the PC and Mac and is available through Origin and other digital distribution platforms.

You can look at all the disaster screenshots here.
