Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Preload Is Now Available

October 13, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Get your game ready for the official unlock date.

The month of October is full of some incredible video game releases. However, for the PlayStation 5, in particular, there is a significant exclusive heading our way. Whether you played the previous games or not, chances are if you’re a PlayStation 5 owner, you might be picking up Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 this month. Fortunately, if you’re already in the group who preordered a copy of the game digitally, you’re in luck. Today, you can go ahead and begin your preload for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This way, you’re already set for when the game officially launches into the marketplace.

Taking to the official PlayStation X account, the development studio is alerting fans that they can go ahead and get through the preload of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. With that said, if you’re unfamiliar with preloading, then we can offer some insight. Preloading is available for several video games ahead of their release. Essentially, if you digitally preorder a copy of the game, then you’re given the ability, in most cases, to download and install the game. With that said, it’s not something that will be unlocked and ready to play. Instead, this just gets the game ready on your console for when the official launch date arrives. It’s great, especially if you want to enjoy the game at launch rather than dealing with the download and installation of the game once it becomes available.

So, while this saves you time during the day of a game’s release, it also gives you time to clear up your storage drive. We already know that for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re dealing with 86.268 GB of storage space requirement. But again, you can get your PlayStation 5 ready for the upcoming launch of the game if you have preordered a digital game. Again, this is not something offered for every game, and it’s only for digital versions of the title. Meanwhile, if you have yet to preorder a copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, then you still have time. The game won’t be available until October 20, 2023.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and its spinoff title, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The upcoming game will have players controlling both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they once again fight to keep the innocents safe in New York City. We know that the two main antagonists will be facing against in this latest installment will be the Venom symbiote along with Kraven the Hunter. Likewise, when the game launches, it will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console platform.
