Mewgenics: Collarless Unlocks and What They Do

February 25, 2026 by Jasper Honea

So many abilities and ways to play!

Mewgenics is a rogue-like RPG with turn-based mechanics focusing on breeding cats continuously to send them on the hunt for food out into the world, starting with the good ol’ fictional town of Boon County and moving onto the rest of the world ! Your cats are able to gain a variety of mutations, or curses that can be bred possibly onto the next generation, and repeat! Along with these mutations, cats can also encounter afflictions, negative effects cats gain while adventuring out into the world.

When getting ready to head out into the world, you have the option to give your adorable monstrosity a collar, assigning them a class. We’ve covered more on classes here. On the other hand, you are also able to not give your cat a collar. These cats are collarless. These cats have no modifiers to positively or negatively affect your cat during combat and while exploring areas in the game.

Exploring the world like this can be seen as a bad move. A cat without some sort of stat increase is weaker, and less likely to make it to the end of a chapter. But there are some rewards for playing this way! Unlocks. What are these?

What Are the Collarless Unlocks in Mewgenics?
