There’s not much longer left this year for GTA Online’s Festive Surprise event. Bringing snow, festive clothing, weapons, and even an 18-wheeler hauling goodies inside for players to snag if they tail behind for long enough, it’s been another successful year for the hit game. One activity players look forward to each year though, is hunting the elusive Yeti. Where is he this year, and how do you bag him? Read on to find out.
Where is the Yeti?
To start the Yeti hunt mission, drive or fly up to Blaine County. Once you’ve found your way into the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness area, somewhere around the Paleto Bay and Fort Zancudo, you’ll receive a text from Tanner which reads below:
“Hey. You a hunter? You better be. Cuz there’s something in those woods. And it ain’t a bear. Trust me. Damn thing nearly killed me once. They’ll say you’re crazy till you get its hide. Then you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank.”

Afterwards the player will have a “?” mark appear on the map. Next up, the player will need to find and collect 5 clues. Investigating each of these clues rewards the player $10k and XP. These all can be found around Rayton Canyon, along dirt roads. Here’s what to look for:
- A dead deer.
- A blue tent that’s been attacked and blood splattered on the tent.
- A wrecked car.
- Body parts on the ground, including a head and arm.
- A torn shirt around an abandoned car.

Once all clues have been found and investigated, a circle will appear on the map where the Yeti will spawn at night between 9pm and 6am. If the last clue is found in this timeframe, the Yeti is likely to spawn almost immediately.
All that’s left is to fill the monster with bullets and take it down. Once you’ve defeated the Yeti, the player will be given the Yeti Outfit and $50k will be added to your bank.

Another yearly event that players around the world look forward to is always filled with festive delights. If hunting a cryptid is on that list for you, this writer smiles nervously and gives you the thumbs-up. Happy hunting!
