While it can’t be overstated how great the actual game itself is, so much of the fun of Vampire Survivors comes from trying to figure out its mechanics and secrets by talking to friends, searching through forums and wikis, and experimenting around with everything. Because the game is so tight-lipped about a lot of things, there’s a certain air of mystery that surrounds it that really captivates its players.
Weapon Evolutions are one of the first things that many players rush to as they begin figuring Vampire Survivors out. Evolutions are a great place to start as they immediately power up the player and open them up to be ready to experience the punishing back half of a run. That said, not every weapon is able to be evolved, but the amount of trial and error that can go into learning that is immense. The Bone, in particular, is one item that players have been curious about so take a look below to see what the deal is with Mortaccio’s starting item.

Can You Evolve the Bone in Vampire Survivors?
Currently, there is no Bone evolution in the game. While that’s a little disappointing for players looking to create builds based around it, the Bone still has plenty of value without the upgrade. The Bone does decent damage and, by the time it’s completely leveled up, is still a high-tier weapon in the game. Players choosing Mortaccio shouldn’t worry about the lack of evolution for the skeleton’s starting weapon as it can act as an excellent pairing to other evolved weapons, especially given Mortaccio’s passive ability.
Additionally, just because there’s not an evolution for the Bone right now doesn’t mean that there won’t ever be one. Vampire Survivors is constantly being updated with new content and an evolution for one of the game’s popular weapons doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch of the imagination for a future update. Right now, however, it’s not able to be evolved.
