With each new expansion, Destiny 2‘s public event missions become popular side activities for players to grind while taking a break from the newly introduced story. The Witch Queen expansion is no exception and since it’s been such a highly anticipated piece of Destiny content, plenty of fans are logging in to try and grab some new loot.
While completing public events nets decent gear for those participating, upgrading them to Heroic events makes the effort much more worth it as it makes all the loot much better. The problem, however, is that upgrading to Heroic isn’t always straightforward because it requires the player to complete secret objectives that are, well, secret.
Cracking the code for what each event is asking of the players is a fun part of the Destiny 2 community and it seems like the Scorn Payload Heroic requirements have been found with relative ease.

Scorn Payload Heroic Event Guide
Posted to the Destiny 2 sub-Reddit by user u/pandacraft, the strategy to getting the Scorn Payload event to Heroic are pretty simple as long as the player and their party can survive the waves of enemies thrown their way.
Essentially, players will need to track down and kill the Resonant Keepers that spawn with each new wave of enemies. Once eliminated, the Keepers will each drop one glowing golden ball that players can pick up. Take the ball and throw it at the payload.
This is the point where some of the community seems to be in disagreement: some players say that only one ball is needed to successfully turn the event Heroic while others say that throwing anywhere between five and seven balls at the payload should do it. Either way, players should kill the Resonant Keepers and hit the payload with the glowing balls until the HUD tells them that they’ve joined a Heroic event.
