If you’re missing out on some of the best Legendary guns of Borderlands 3, now is the time to start farming because the ‘Farming Frenzy’ event just started. From January 16th-30th, legendary and anointed gun drops are much more common from respawning story bosses, rare spawns, Hammerlock Hunts and Targets of Opportunity. Rare Spawn enemies — those weird named bosses that only appear sometimes — will also spawn way more often.
Don’t just run off in circles looking for things to shoot. These are the 10 best legendary guns (in my opinion) that you absolutely need to get. I’ll list each gun, and what bosses you’ll want to farm to get them. They’re all amazing weapons, so I recommend running down the list, picking the weapon types you like the most, and unlocking everything you can.
Even if you have these weapons, you can always get better versions with improved Anointments during this event. Seeing as the rare spawn enemies that drop most of them are so much more common, there’s never been a better time to go hunting.
Best Legendary Pistols
- Maggie (Pistol): Rare world drop. Doesn’t drop from any boss at a higher rate.
- Night Flyer (Pistol): Drops from I’m Rakk-Man, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Pandora – Carnivora. He’s in a small cave arena in the northwest edge of the map.
Best Legendary SMGs
- Cutsman (SMG): Drops from Borman Nates, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Promethea – Meridian Outskirts. Spawns at the COV camp east of Fort Pissoff.
- Night Hawkin (SMG): Drops from Demoskaggon, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Pandora – Droughts. Spawns in a skag nest west from Bloodbucket’s Chapel.
Best Legendary Assault Rifles
- Laser-Sploder (Assault Rifle): Drops from Sylestro, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Nekrotafeyo – Tazendeer Ruins. He’s a Heavy Maliwan Trooper found in the outskirts.
- Lucian’s Call (Assault Rifle): Can be acquired from Crazy Earl in Sanctuary III for trading in Loot-O-Grams. Acquire Loot-O-Grams by destroying Dinklebot, a special named enemy found in Promethea – Skywell-27
- Rowan’s Call (Assault Rifle): Can be acquired from Crazy Earl in Sanctuary III for trading in Loot-O-Grams. Acquire Loot-O-Grams by destroying Dinklebot, a special named enemy found in Promethea – Skywell-27
Best Legendary Shotguns
- Butcher (Shotgun): Can be acquired from Crazy Earl in Sanctuary III for trading in Loot-O-Grams. Acquire Loot-O-Grams by destroying Dinklebot, a special named enemy found in Promethea – Skywell-27
- Horizon (Shotgun): Drops from Maxatrillion, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Eden 6 – Voracious Canopy.
Best Legendary Sniper Rifles
- Lyuda (Sniper Rifle): Reward for completing all Target of Opportunity missions for Zer0.
- Monocle (Sniper Rifle): Rare world drop. Doesn’t drop from any boss at a higher rate.
- Headsplosion (Sniper Rifle): Drops from Manvark, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Pandora – Konrad’s Hold. Spawns in the Last Stand region of the zone.
Best Legendary Rocket Launchers
- Freeman (Rocket Launcher): Drops from the Warden, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Eden-6 – Anvil.
- Ruby’s Wrath (Rocket Launcher): Drops from Chonk Stomp, a Rare Spawn Boss located in Eden 6 – Floodmoor Basin. In a small arena south of the Primeval Grotto.
And that covers all the Legendary guns you’ll want to aim for in Borderlands 3. You’ll still be able to farm for these bad boys any day of the year! But it’s be a lot easier during the Farming Frenzy event.
