Ashen: How To Beat Every Boss | Boss Strategy Guide [VIDEO]

December 25, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Watch every boss get bested in our video series, covering the varied (and challenging) opponents in the Souls-like adventure RPG Ashen.

Ashen came out of nowhere. This indie Dark Souls-like action-RPG released in tandem with Epic’s new PC game marketplace. It’s available on PC and Xbox One, and it’s a shockingly great game — tightly constructed, with a gentler difficulty balance so even Souls-like newbies can enjoy the exploration.

In Ashen, you play as a nomadic character of your own creation, exploring a vast wilderness filled with killer monsters and dangerous bandits. Your goal is to create a safe place for your tribe, and as you progress through the adventure, your village grows too. You’ll gain new abilities as you invite strangers to your town, and unlock new adventurers that will fight by your side — even against bosses.

Essentially, this is just like Dark Souls — but it’s a very, very good imitation. Like that game, you’ll encounter set piece boss battles that are the most exhilarating part of the adventure. The same goes for Ashen, where you’ll encounter some seriously unique bosses. All of them have their own gimmicks, quirks, and weaknesses. Watch us beat them all.
