Mega Man X Legacy Collection: How To Unlock A Hidden Wallpaper, Music Track & More | Secret Achievements / Trophies Guide

July 25, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

There are still some secrets to be found in the Mega Man X series. Here’s how to listen to a new, extended audio track, how to unlock a secret wallpaper, and how to solve the mystery in the credits.

The Mega Man X series is full of secrets, from Ryu’s Hadoken to hidden armor locations, but there are a few new secrets to find exclusively included in the Mega Man X Legacy Collection. So far, we’ve found a hidden wallpaper, a bonus music track, and a slightly alternate “ending” you can unlock while watching the in-game credits. These are all part of the museum menu, so you won’t find these in the main games.

We’ll explain how to complete these secret challenges in the full guide below. The trophy / achievement listings don’t exactly say what you need to do, and leave out some key details. You need to do more than just browse around pictures or music tracks — you’ll also need to complete portions of the game. Not the whole thing, but some of these can be a little tough.

Secret Achievements / Trophies Guide

Here, we’re going to cover three specific achievements / trophies related to new content included in the Mega Man X Legacy Collection.

  • Audio Signal Incoming (Secret Music Track)
  • Reconnaissance Complete (Secret Wallpaper)
  • Identity Erased (Secret Credits Ending)

To unlock these achievements / trophies, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps.

‘Audio Signal Incoming’ Guide

To unlock the bonus music track, “Give It A Shot (Extended)” and unlock this achievement / trophy, complete the following:

  • Complete the Mega Man X Challenges at the bottom of the main menu.
  • After that, go to the Museum and listen to the 10 audio tracks.
  • After completing the Challenge Mode, the secret track will appear at the end of the list in the Museum.

Listen to all the tracks, including the secret track, and you’ll earn this achievement / trophy.

‘Reconnaissance Complete’ Guide

Unlocking the secret wallpaper is a lot easier. All you have to do is complete Mega Man X 1. After beating the game, you’ll get a message saying the wallpaper is unlocked.

Go to the Museum, and look at 20 images from the

four different games — after looking at 20, select the bonus image and make it your wallpaper to unlock the achievement / trophy.

‘Identity Erased’ Guide

To get this final ‘ending’ secret, you’ll need to play through the credits for Mega Man X Legacy Collection — no, not the in-game credits. The credits in the Options menu.

  • Go to Options -> Credits from the Main Menu.
  • In the credits, keep shooting and destroying enemies / credit lines.
  • Eventually, you’ll get a message that will trigger the bonus ending.

After the credits complete, you’ll get something new, and earn the achievement / trophy.
