Top Upcoming PlayStation 4 Video Games of 2019

June 14, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

Top video games launching on the PlayStation 4 in 2019.

Kingdom Hearts III
  • Developer: Square Enix
  • Publisher: Square Enix
  • Platforms: PS4, XBO
  • Release: January 29, 2019

Kingdom Hearts III is the next major installment to the Kingdom Hearts franchise. After several years, we’re finally receiving the game in January of 2019 and during E3 2018, we’ve seen plenty of Disney characters who will make an appearance within the game.

Sora and his gang are back as they battle evil and roam the different Disney themed planets. For instance, we know that Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters Inc, Hercules, Toy Story, and Frozen will be present within the game and now that we have an official release date, we can finally see where the story takes us in the coming months.

Resident Evil 2
  • Developer: Capcom
  • Publisher: Capcom
  • Platforms: PC, XBO, PS4
  • Release: January 25, 2019

It was just a few years ago that Capcom revealed that they would be remaking Resident Evil 2 much like how they remade the original Resident Evil title. This is the first time developers have returned to the the game in order to give it a proper HD overhaul for players and during E3 2018, we got our first look at the title.

Not only does Resident Evil 2 look spectacular but it seems that the developers are seeking new ways to bring fans an enjoyable experience. For instance, Capcom is bringing the over-the-should camera view similar to the later Resident Evil titles such as Resident Evil 4 rather than the fixed camera angles.

However, the game narrative still remains the same as players will be taking on the role of Leon and Claire as they make their way through the heavily infected Raccoon City.

Trials Rising
  • Developer: RedLynx
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO, NS
  • Release: February 2019

Trials is making a triumphant return in 2019 with the upcoming release, Trials Rising. The video game was announced during E3 2018 where the series will continue to focus on racing mixed with platform mechanics. Being that this is a lighthearted game, courses are massive and filled with obstacles to overcome.

As you maneuver through the levels players will have to carefully control their rider otherwise they’ll end up wrecking big due to the physics-based motorcycle mechanics.

Metro Exodus
  • Developer: 4A Games
  • Publisher: Deep Silver
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: February 22, 2019

Metro Exodus was originally slated to release in 2018 but has since been delayed until 2019. During E3 2018 new footage was unveiled showing off the world players will be exploring. As you can expect, there is plenty of hostile creatures that lurk about followed by a bit of gunplay as you progress through the journey. We’re also given the release date for the game as players can expect the title to launch on February 22, 2019.

Tom Clancy’s: The Division 2
  • Developer: Massive Entertainment
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: March 15, 2019

The Division 2 is slated to launch in 2019 and it will apparently take place just under a year after the events of The Division. Within the game narrative, players will be focusing on a new corrupt government that has begun to strain the daily lives of civilians. It seems that rules are strict and punishments are harsh, resulting in a new civil war.

Within the game, players will once again step into the role of an agent within The Division as they fight back and restore normalcy along with protection to innocents of The United States of America. As for the gameplay mechanics, it still seems that this is still an action-packed title with a focus on cooperative gameplay.
