Nintendo Switch owners and fans of the mature cartoon series South Park was delighted with a tweet from the official South Park account. A recent tweet was sent out hinting at South Park: The Fractured But Whole video game release would see a port on the Nintendo Switch according to several gamers and reporters, but that’s simply not the case.
Within the tweet, a text phrase of “Nin-ten-do. I’m coming. I’m coming, Nin-ten-do #blizzard2017” would have suggested that the development team behind South Park: The Fractured But Whole is working on the title for the Nintendo Switch at the time, but looking at it a bit more closely, it’s really all about winter weather.
After rumors and speculation started to spread online, IGN reported that Comedy Central posted a statement from the guys at South Park. Unfortunately, it seems that the tweet was misinterpreted online.
The gif was from an episode of South Park where Cartman decides to freeze himself to avoid waiting any longer for the Nintendo Wii. Likewise, this text was a quote from Cartman and not a hint towards an upcoming release.
Furthermore, it seems that with the upper east coast in the United States undergoing bad winter weather, the hashtag now reveals that the tweet was mostly intended for the current weather conditions.
Looks like there’s going to be a few disappointed Nintendo Switch owners, but perhaps the excitement over the potential game release may sway developers to seek out a port for Nintendo’s latest console.
