Epic Games Currently Has Six Games In Production

February 27, 2017 by Dennis Patrick

Development studio is determined to go back to their roots.

Epic Games is a well-known name within the video game industry with some of its biggest releases being Unreal Tournament and Gears of War. Now after a new interview was posted online between Venture Beat and Epic Games’ CEO Tim Sweeney, we’re learning that the development studio is keeping busy.

Within the interview, we found out that the development studio currently has six video game productions in the works and that the studio is looking to self-publish. Based in Raleigh, N.C., Epic Games is currently working on Fortnite, Paragon, an upcoming version of Unreal Tournament, a mobile PC title known as Spyjinx, Robo Recall, and we’re also finding out about a new mobile and PC RPG titled as Battle Breakers.

Venture Beat also spoke with Donald Mustard, the creative director for Epic Games, in which Mustard stated that the team has a strong focus on the development studio’s game engine.

“Epic has a full slate of games coming. We’ve got a strong focus on our game engine, but we’ve also got a strong internally produced games business too.”

As mentioned, there seems to be an interest in going back to the development studio’s roots by publishing video games within a publisher relationship according to Tim Sweeney.

“We are determined to go back to our roots and go directly to users without publisher relationships. The friction that is there. It’s so much better to operate a game live and change it in response to consumer feedback. Paragon has changed so much in response. it’s a continual dialogue. It’s like going back to the days when we first started. That’s what epic is all about.”
