The video game scene from Fox hasn’t been the most forefront. This company has been particular with their franchise IPs though it seems that the Fox is now seeking to dive into the video game industry with their own division known as FoxNext.
News regarding the division was sent out as a press release where it was unveiled that Salil Mehta will be leading the new division for Twentieth Century Fox Films. Previously, Salil Mehta had worked with both NBC Universal and The Walt Disney Company.
It’s not quite known just yet what new projects will be coming down the pipeline from Fox after this division announcement. However, we know that the group will be working not only on video games, but also VR, AR, and the upcoming Fox World theme parks.
In the past, we’ve seen Fox franchises such as The Simpsons and Alien recently release into the video game market. Currently, there’s a project to bring a VR experience to the upcoming Ridley Scott film, Alien: Covenant.
For the most part, we’re interested in seeing just how these upcoming video game releases will compete with other big name industry IP launches. Likewise, just what franchises we could see launch into the video game format.
Some of the franchises notable that could see a new video game adaptation include The X-Files, Die Hard, The Omen, Night at the Museum, and Predator. What franchise title would you be interested in playing that’s owned by Fox? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.
