Game Guide publisher Future Press has teamed up with Fumito Ueda and the genDESIGN team to bring fans a companion art book for The Last Guardian. The Last Guardian: An Extraordinary Story will provide details on the inner workings and inspirations behind The Last Guardian, as well as never before seen illustrations.
Gen DESIGN and Japan STUDIO will provide commentary on sketches, explaining the designer’s intent, and comparing key storyboards and screenshots. Future Press promises a deeper understanding of how the game functions, and a “visual walkthrough (which) highlights the game’s narrative clues while exploring its most hidden corners”.
The Last Guardian joins the list of games to receive art book accompaniments, which includes Nintendo’s Splatoon.
Pre-orders for The Last Guardian: An Extraordinary Story are now available via Amazon for $39.99 USD. It will release on February 28 2017.
