Square Enix could potentially announce anything come next year on January 31, but the one thing fans could definitely ensure is some news about the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 remake; not only because the game’s first episode is to release in 2017, but because January 31 is the 20th anniversary for FF7.
Early rumors for the 30th-anniversary collection include Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX and it is said to be released on PS4 and PS Vita in a single disc/card. This will most definitely be a very ambitious move by Square, but one that the fans will be going absolutely nuts for.
However, as of now the only anniversary plan announced by Square Enix is a Final Fantasy XIV-themed real escape game opening across several Zepp locations in Japan starting February 10.
Final Fantasy will celebrate its 30th anniversary on December 18, 2017.
