The real-time strategy title Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III is set to launch at some point next year, 2017 for the PC platform. The video game will be the third stand-alone title in the Dawn of War series and its set to bring in a variety of characters.
Thanks to a press release that was sent over earlier today we got new details about the upcoming Wraithlords. Essentially, Wraithlords are larger versions of Wraithblades as they are piloted by ghostly spirits of lifeless Eldar entombed within spirit stones.
It’s stated within the press release that a Wraithlord can provide a strong front line and really engage the enemy force. These characters will be able to lunge through an enemy with a Glaive Charge, though when in close combat, you’ll find that Wraithlords will be able to deliver a series of critical strikes. You can check out the abilities for the Wraithlords down below.
Abilities
Glaive Charge
- The Wraithlord charges forward, knocking away enemies in its path. At the end of its charge, the Wraithlord deals damage and knocks away all enemies in a sweeping arc.
Ethereal Wall
- The Ethereal Wall temporarily blocks enemy fire. Units that pass through it are affected for a short duration – allies receive a speed increase and enemies are slowed.
As mentioned the developers Relic Entertainment has yet to make mention of a specific release date for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III though we will see the game launch at some point in 2017 for the PC platform.
