Last time we had any word from Batman: Return to Arkham, it was when the news broke that the game would be in indefinite delay due to development issues. But that time is now over, according to a new video uploaded to the official YouTube channel of the developers. They released a new side-by-side comparison video of the original Batman Arkham games being played alongside their remasters.
Batman: Return to Arkham gives Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City a tune-up and overall for the new generation of video game consoles. Both of these games stood out on the last generation for their overall superb quality and polish, and it seems like a logical choice to bring that experience forward into the current console era. One of the main issues this remaster project had before was that people were asking questions about the visual quality of the remake, pointing to instances of the previews that were put out as reasoning for their concerns. It’s safe to assume the extra development time that was spent on this remake was to address these problems raised. In this new video, while some of the lighting is definitely stronger, you can still see a sharper image and better texture resolution throughout the entirety of the demonstration.
Batman: Return to Arkham arrives on October 18th for PS4 and Xbox One. For updates on the game in the meantime, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
