The way that Civilization VI is revealing their 18 civilizations for the upcoming game is via a “Meet the Leader” video series. There, you meet face to face with the personalities that lead countries and nations. Today, they revealed Scythia by introducing Queen Tomyris.
Tomyris is a notable figure in history due to the fact they killed Persia’s Cyrus the Great, and Scythia was one of the strongest military focused civilizations of the classical time period. The armies she commands get an attack bonus for going after wounded units, getting a bit of healing for defeating foes. Don’t make her angry by declaring war, or be ready to face the consequences. They create two units rather than one when building light cavalry or Saka Horse Archer units (Scythia’s unique unit). The Sakas don’t require horse resources to make them, which means the Scythians are able to capitalize on mobility early on. They get Kurgan as a unique tile improvement, granting extra faith and gold with a bonus for being built adjacent to pastures.
Civilization VI comes out for PC (Mac, Linux) on October 21st. To keep aware of what goes on, follow along on the game’s website, Twitter, and Facebook.
