Blizzard has recently sent out a press release that unveiled their upcoming Overwatch World Cup that will be taking place during this year’s BlizzCon. The event which really kicks off Thursday, August 11, 2016, will ultimately pin teams all around the world to go head-to-head in a fierce competition revolving around their latest MMO video game release.
Noted through the press release, along with announcements made available on the official blog for Overwatch, notes that players will pick the various team members that will be attending the event. As mentioned, starting on August 11, 2016, gamers can vote for the player’s they would like to represent their country in the Blizzard Overwatch World Cup.
There are plenty of teams that will be entering the tournament and it’s exciting to see that gamers all over are able to vote on the various players who will be entering their country’s team. After the voting stage ends, these teams will start off in qualifiers.
For now, it seems that there is no prize money for the event, however, for the teams that get to the finals will receive a free trip to BlizzCon where they can battle it out in front of a massive live audience.
