The tag-team brawler known as Dungeon Punks takes place in a magical and mysterious world where players are taken on a journey to stop RezCorp and stop the monopoly on the resurrection insurance industry.
“Dungeon Punks is a nod to the classic era of arcade brawlers and beat ‘em ups – when gaming was exciting and challenging, but still entirely accessible; when co-op was new and the camaraderie of a multiplayer adventure called you to the corner store for just one more round; when games were hard, satisfying and best experienced with friends,” says Dungeon Punks developer and co-founder Dan Goldstein.
Across the game’s 12 levels, there are side quests that can be taken on in order to acquire some new spells or equipment. Dominate the creatures of the land (saber tooth cats, gorillas, and… unicorns) and mount them to unleash their special abilities on your foes. The key to success in this game is not trying to duke it out all on your own. Working as a team when you use power-ups, healing potions, mounts – they all have a factor when going to battle. Each player has the ability to command two heroes at once. There’s a Joust mode where you can engage in PvP death matches across all the game’s locations.
Dungeon Punks is available now on PS4 and Xbox One. There’s a Vita release of the game on August 16th, with a PC and Mac release planned for later this Summer. To connect with the developers, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
