Obsidian Entertainment, the makers of Pillars of Eternity, have just revealed gameplay footage of their upcoming RPG, Tyranny, in a newly released trailer at the PC Gaming Show at E3.
I previously interviewed Obsidian’s Brian Heins about the upcoming game, which puts players in the role of a “Fatebinder,” or enforcer of Kyros the Overlord in a world dominated by an evil empire. It’s a world in which the forces of tyranny (hence the title) have triumphed over good. As a Fatebinder, player smust impose their will as arbiter and executioner among the subjugated people.
The Overlord’s merciless armies dominate the face of the world, and its denizens must find their new roles within the war-torn realm. Players’ decisions will have far-reaching consequences and change both the land and its people, providing a non-linear, highly replayable experience.
Check out the new trailer above.
The game is to be published by Paradox Interactive for the Windows PC, Mac and Linux later this year.
