Before I begin delving into the mysteries that are Bethesda, I'd like to take a moment and thank Gameranx for adding me to their roster. I love writing about video games and hope to broaden my horizons and improve my skill as I start the next leg of my journey here at Gameranx. Now back to your regularly scheduled article.
Riddle me this dear readers: What comes from fact but isn't necessarily the truth? Speculation! So Zenimax has registered the name “Dawnguard” which will apparently be “downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices”. Now, while some websites my speculate that this is going to be a Skyrim DLC, just know that it's a trap. Note that the trademark says “computer game software” and does not mention anything about consoles. Which would mean that this is either something that will be offered via Steam, Origin, both, or a website of Zenimax's own design. Using my journalism senses I also detect that this is probably going to be a new game altogether.
The “wireless devices” part is intriguing though. This could either be Zenimax covering their bases or we could be seeing some sort of iOS, android, PS Vita, or even multiplatform (pc, iOS, android, and ps vita) game. Who knows? Riddle me this though: Do the questions never end?
