XBOX appears to be making plans to expand their physical games production.

XBOX is now hiring for a new job post in Microsoft’s Redmond location. The job description says this:
The Xbox Games Supply Strategist will coordinate the launch of physical Xbox games across all platforms, lead development & oversee execution of global supply positioning strategies across all stages of the product lifecycle, ensure that inventory is positioned to deliver working capital/cost/service goals, and oversee the sales & channel execution of those games.
The job listing itself says nothing about what physical media format XBOX could use for the future.
There’s rumors that the supply chain for optical disc drives is decreasing, creating speculation that XBOX will have to find a different format. But it would seem this new interest in physical media should reverse that trend, as XBOX makes or acquires their own facilities.
XBOX also has an out from this issue with their disc-to-digital program, which allows even Xbox One owners to claim digital copies of Xbox Series X|S games.
