We may be seeing more of The Legend of Zelda Movie as soon as next month.
As reported by GoNintendo, word spread that The Legend of Zelda Movie’s theatrical trailer will start making the rounds very soon. The trailer is attached to Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning, the sequel to 2010’s The Social Network.
GoNintendo was able to trace that The Social Reckoning is hitting theaters on October 8, 2026. Now, of course, Sorkin’s legal thriller based on Facebook whistleblowers hardly has any overlap with The Legend of Zelda Movie’s target audience. It would make more sense if it was tied to DreamWorks’ recently released animated comedy Forgotten Island.
But of course, what actually ties Nintendo and Sorkin together is they’re both under the Sony Pictures umbrella. In any case, the trailer will likely also release on social media shortly after that theatre premiere. And it will continue to be shown from now until release, unless Nintendo and Sony Pictures come out with even more trailers.
The production finished filming last April, so there should be enough time to edit a trailer with their dailies. But we wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to just be the logo again.
