XBOX may still need some more prodding to bring physical games to Project Helix.
As shared by Power Up Gaming on social media, XBOX asked this question on a customer survey:
- Must Have – I won’t even consider purchasing a next-generation XBOX console if this isn’t included
Lets you install games from a physical disc:
- Not Necessary
- Nice to Have
- Must Have
We need to clarify that this rumor hasn’t been corroborated by other sources yet. But as Power Up Gaming explained, the survey should show up for Xbox console owners on their Xbox Insider Hub app.
Of course, it’s common for video game companies to send out customer surveys targeted to specific customers. So it isn’t unusual that XBOX has kept this survey under wraps, they’re trying to get honest answers from their fans.
This rumor is interesting in light of PlayStation’s plans to stop making physical games. XBOX’s disc-to-digital program takes care of fans with old physical libraries, but XBOX wants to make sure the demand for physical discs isn’t just online discourse.
