There’s a big rumor going around about what’s coming to Game Pass next… but is this really happening?
ResetERA moderator Slayven started a thread explaining the big changes. The new tiers will be as follows:
- Game Pass ad tier, $ 12.99 a month
- Game Pass without ads, $ 19.99 a month or $ 239.99 annually
Subsequently, online multiplayer becomes a separate $ 10.99 subscription, cloud streaming is a $ 5.99 add-on with a 25 hour monthly limit, and the family plan is another $ 5.99 add-on.
Finally, Slayven says they’re dropping Day One games. These are huge claims for sure, and we’ll need more people to corroborate them to take them seriously.
NateTheHate explained that Slayven correctly leaked GamePass tier changes last year, but he can’t vouch for this newer rumor. What we would point out is that XBOX CEO Asha Sharma has explained that the company is reviewing everything they do and nothing is off the table.
So it is possible that this is all true, but XBOX changes their mind and the actual changes to Game Pass will be different. Given how much of the service changed so quickly, they may want to take it slow.
