Rockstar may have even more plans to monetize GTA 6 than they have let on.
Adam Sessler, best known for hosting TechTV, and later G4’s X-Play, now hosts a show on Twitch called The Joy of Sess. In his latest stream, he said this when asked about GTA 6 having a subscription:
…if for some of the stuff I’ve heard that I’m not going to talk about, there is a reason for that monthly subscription. I’m more interested to see how they introduce an idea like that, if that is the case. Because… weew… I’m going to hide under my desk when something like that gets announced.
Adam is definitely not the only person who’s heard about these subscription plans, but we won’t know about them for now.
Rockstar currently offers GTA +, a subscription to get extra items on GTA Online. Adam seems to hint that this could be a separate subscription from that.
This could hint that GTA 6 will also have GTA Online. However, we would posit that just like the Standard vs. Deluxe Edition, Rockstar could be gating even more GTA 6 content behind a subscription.
