We now have some interesting insights into Sony’s PlayStation PC group.

As found by Timur222, a PlayStation employee revealed that they were able to grow revenue in the division to $ 300 million from 2021 to 2023. The said employee earlier claimed that PlayStation PC was a $ 50 million business.
Based on the timeframe, the employee joined the division a year after Sony published Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. So the game may have been a test run for Sony’s multiplatform experiment.
Interestingly, this employee left the division before Sony launched their live service push with Helldivers 2 and Concord in 2024.
Sony did inherit Bungie’s PC and Xbox business when they acquired them in 2022, but this $ 300 million figure was from the single player games on Steam, Epic Game Store, and GOG.
The games they published to PC at this time included Days Gone, 2018’s God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Uncharted, Returnal, and The Last Of Us Part I.
This does not debunk that rumor that Sony is pulling out their single player games from PC, but it does raise questions about it. Did they have realistic expectations for this initiative?
