There is now a major rumor about a potential Nintendo Direct.
NateTheHate said this in the latest episode of his podcast:
But from what I have been told, the first direct of 2026 will be held during the opening week of February with an expectation of broadcast on Thursday, February 5th.
Nate also clarified that he hasn’t confirmed the exact date with his contacts yet.
Last Sunday, we got a Nintendo Direct for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. There’s also a Direct coming this week for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
YouTuber Attack The Backlog responded to the Tomodachi Life Direct announcement on Twitter:
I’ve always been told feb by my source for a direct but was hearing sooo much stuff elsewhere about January dates but seeing this and all the X announcements/ movie direct, I think that’s why some may have thought the direct would be in Jan. Still good for feb
Two people claimed in his comments that they also heard the same rumor.
As Nate explained, Nintendo usually has a Direct on February anyway. But as they say, when there’s smoke, there’s fire.
