Mirror’s Edge Possibly Headed To Television

May 26, 2016 by Nick Monroe

Endemol Shine Studios acquired the rights to adapt Mirror’s Edge into a TV series.

Earlier today, it was announced that Mega Man would be returning to television in the near future. It seems as if that isn’t the only video game potentially receiving the TV show treatment.

Mirror’s Edge could be getting a television adaptation, according to a Deadline report. Endemol Shine Studios has acquired the Mirror’s Edge property rights to adapt it into an action series.

Endemol Shine Studios President Sharon Hall says that Mirror’s Edge “has a strong female protagonist, a wildly rabid fan base and a worldwide brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done an amazing job establishing.”

This summer has had a few video games headed onto the movie screen: Rachet & Clank, World of Warcraft, and Angry Birds have all tried their hand at cinema stories, with varying results. Only time will tell if the idea will come to full fruition. Is Mirror’s Edge going to flop before the pilot episode, or will it be worthy of six seasons and a movie?

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is coming out in the U.S. on June 7th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. But as you can see, production studios are already planning ahead of that.
