Terminator: Survivors Is Making A Big Change As Devs Delay The Project

We had some slightly unfortunate news recently on the anticipated Terminator: Survivors game. While there were some fans who were ready to dive into this PvE-style experience set within the Terminator IP, that’s no longer happening. At least it’s not happening in the same style the developers initially planned. When Nacon Studio Milan started work on the game, it was, as stated, a game where you and your friends could jump into this apocalyptic world as you fought to keep humanity from extinction.

Unfortunately, if you were banking on this game to be something to enjoy with friends and other players, we have bad news. Instead of keeping up plans to bring out a multiplayer experience to the world of Terminator, this game is pivoting to a single-player experience. Players would instead fight alone in a desolate world filled with robots looking to slaughter the remnants of humanity.

Terminator: Survivors Goes Single-Player

News recently broke on the Steam listing page for Terminator: Survivors. Marco Ponte, the creative director of the game at Nacon Studio Milan, revealed what’s changing. The biggest is that they are no longer making this a cooperative multiplayer game. Instead, you’ll have to explore the world, scavenge for items, and help humanity out of the rubble caused by Judgement Day alone. Of course, the biggest concern out there is the dreaded T-800s still seeking any humans who might be left.

The reason for this move is that the developers felt, after playtests and discussions with fans of the license, that a single-player experience is the best approach. However, because of this change, there are no longer plans to see the game released this year via early access. Which isn’t much of a surprise, seeing how we are weeks away from 2026 at this point. Instead, the developers want to finish and polish the final product.

As for when you’ll get your hands on this game, we have no clue. There’s no release window quite yet, but the developers are looking for playtesters. The post unveiled that there will be several closed playtests as they get closer to a launch window. Just when that will be is anyone’s guess right now.
