THQ Nordic Reveals Reanimal Has Gone Gold

December 16, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Mark those calendars. Nothing is stopping this game now.

Tarsier Studios really made a name for themselves when they brought out the Little Nightmares franchise. Both the debut game and its sequel were incredibly well received, tossing players into this puzzle-platform game with a horror backdrop. While fans were ready for this team to continue on and bring out the next installment, that didn’t happen. Instead, Little Nightmares III was brought out from Supermassive Games, and as for Tasier Studios, they got to work on a brand-new IP, Reanimal.

Keeping that same formula that they crafted up with Little Nightmares, Renaimal looked to bring out a very similar gameplay experience. That said, it seemed far darker, and if you want to play it, mark those calendars! The development team has finally reached the fabled gold status for their game project, meaning we should see Reanimal land in the marketplace on time next year.

Reanimal Reaches Gold Status

Thanks to Gamespress, we’re learning about a press release confirming that Reanimal has gone gold. This announcement came from THQ Nordic, the publisher behind the upcoming project. As with most announcements of a game going gold, there wasn’t much more here to report on. Instead, it’s essentially a notice that the game is set to arrive in the marketplace on time.

For those of you who might not be familiar with a game project going gold, we can offer some insight. Every studio aims to reach gold status with their projects, as it’s the point at which a game can ship. Developers are confident in the game and its playtesting, so manufacturing can begin. If a game is getting a physical release, you’ll find that discs and boxes are produced before being shipped to markets. Of course, we typically see developers continue working on bugs and preparing for the game’s first update after launch.

That means there’s no delay likely hitting this game now. Instead, if you’re ready to dive into this new co-op horror experience, you’ll be able to do so this coming February. For a quick refresher, Reanimal is set to launch on February 13, 2026. When the game is released, you’ll be able to find it on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
