It wasn’t too long ago that we saw nothing come from the Silent Hill IP. The franchise was essentially long forgotten as a strong video game series for Konami. But something changed just a few years ago. Konami decided to dust the IP off and bring it back into the limelight. It was revealed that several major games and projects are in the works to deliver Silent Hill once more to fans and newcomers alike. Included was a slew of video games, as well as the introduction of Return to Silent Hill.
The Silent Hill movie was successful, and behind that project was director Christophe Gans. If you enjoyed the movie for what it was, then you might have had some interest piqued for Return to Silent Hill. That’s because Christophe Gans was unveiled as returning to take on the franchise again. While the original movie focused on the first Silent Hill game, Return to Silent Hill will instead tell the storyline of Silent Hill 2.
Return to Silent Hill Receives An International Trailer
The Return to Silent Hill will likely have some alterations from the original video game and even the successful remake. We can see some of that from the trailers so far, but today we have another sneak peek at the movie. An international trailer was released, offering another glimpse of the film and its premise.
Of course, if you have played either the original Silent Hill 2 or the Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, then you know what to expect. The same overall storyline is here: a young man named James ventures into the town of Silent Hill. With the belief that his late wife is still alive in the city, James will go through a hellish nightmare to track down his love.
You can view the international trailer above. However, it’s worth noting that the YouTube player might feature auto-dubbed English audio. So if it’s sounding off and well below expectations, switch the audio over to French as it’s the standard English audio.
Meanwhile, if you are keen on sitting in on this movie, then mark your calendars. Currently, Return to Silent Hill is set to launch on February 4, 2026. As for what’s coming in the video game realm of Silent Hill, we know that Bloober Team has been given the green light to develop a remake of the original game that started it all. Unfortunately, we don’t have any marketing materials for the Silent Hill remake quite yet.
