GameRoll believes he found one less reason to believe that Grand Theft Auto 6 will get another delay.

He just shared that drill rapper Skrilla claimed his song Doot Doot (6 7) will be in the game.
This probably happened because his song became a hot commodity over the 6-7 meme on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
GameRoll made this follow up statement:
Also, music licensing tends to be one of the very last things that Rockstar does before finishing a game.
If he’s not lying, then this is a pretty good indication that GTA 6 won’t be delayed again.
But What If He’s Lying?
GameRoll addressed several questions from fans about this. We think this is the most salient point:
This type of thing has happened before. It’s entirely possible he wasn’t educated on what he can or can’t say by his label or he simply just forgot/left his mind.
This is an hour into a podcast and they bring up a game that maybe a few weeks ago he had off handedly mentioned to him was gonna use his song. You just never know.
But yeah of course he could be clout chasing too
He’s also opined that the song is probably not a big part of the game. For the same reason, Rockstar probably won’t care that much that he leaked this himself.
What Does This Tell Us About Grand Theft Auto 6?
We already know that Rockstar is setting this game in modern day. Even though the game has been in production for five years, they are placing indicators like this song to differentiate it from Grand Theft Auto IV or Grand Theft Auto V.
We can expect the game’s narrative to have more references and parodies for the 2020s. We can only guess to what extent it will reference current events.
Could Grand Theft Auto 6 Still Be Delayed?
To be fair, Rockstar could still deal with some last minute issue that could cause a delay. But they and Take-Two will want to avoid that as much as possible.
The delay to May 2026 surely already cost the publisher a dear amount of money. Other games and studios could have experiences layoffs or other consequences as a result.
But of course, that isn’t happening to this game in particular. Grand Theft Auto 6 is still expected to be the biggest video game launch in history when it comes out.
So let’s hope that Rockstar and Take-Two really are finishing up development for a proper release.
