Battlefield Reboot Campaign Spoilers Leak

July 8, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

Is this what will make the reboot a success?

Some story details for the Battlefield reboot has leaked.

As reported by MP1st, these leaks come from the Telegram group BF1. Presumably, these do not come from the studios making the reboot, but playtesters currently in Battlefield Labs.

You can read the rumored story spoilers below.

  • Pax Armata forces have invaded Gibraltar. Your objective: take back the Rock from enemy forces attempting to seize this strategic location.
  • Artillery has weakened Pax’s defensive systems.
  • Your team, Dagger 1-3, is deployed to support NATO and British forces, including a British unit named Lancer.
  • You land alongside Bravo Element to establish a beachhead.
  • Destroy floating mines to ensure all allied AAVs can safely reach the Gibraltar shoreline.
  • Advance by accessing Gibraltar’s historic Great Siege Tunnels through a path beneath street level.
  • Neutralize anti-air (AA) batteries by disabling their datalinks, allowing NATO air support to proceed.

This appears to be the first time we have found rumors with this much detail about the Battlefield reboot’s story campaign. While DICE’s multiplayer shooter franchise is frequently compared to the Call of Duty franchise, the franchise has spent more time on a fictionalized modern setting, and leans more towards even more fully fictional conflicts, as opposed to fictionalizing familiar historical settings.

Also, unlike Call of Duty, the Battlefield games don’t have as definitive a timeline of events for its internal history. While there’s a lot of lore across its eight games and its DLCs, much of the game’s history has really focused more on building a non-story based multiplayer experience. These leaks hint that the reboot is changing direction, and will now have a bigger emphasis of story. This may be because the franchise has been handed off from its original studio, DICE, and is now being managed by former Call of Duty developers Vince Zampella and Byron Beede.

While we have also reported on detailed rumors that the Battlefield reboot has had troubled development; EA seems to have already decided to finish development and release the game by March 2026, AKA, the end of this financial year. Given the high expectations that EA has for this reboot, it will definitely be interesting to see what the final product will look like, and if gamers will eventually embrace it. Entering a newly more challenging market, EA will have to contend with many more military shooters, including the supposed Battlefield copycat Delta Force. We could very well see it announced and released before the end of this Roman calendar year in 2025.
