Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition For Switch 2 Features Cross-Progression Saves

June 23, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Don’t start from scratch, choom.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was released earlier this month. If you’ve picked up a unit, you might already be playing through some new releases or revisiting your previous Nintendo Switch games. With a nice little performance boost, replaying some of your old Switch games might suffice until that next major release on your radar drops. However, one RPG that also saw a launch alongside the Switch 2 might be well worth checking out regardless of whether you played it previously or not. We’re, of course, talking about Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition released in the marketplace alongside the Nintendo Switch 2. This was one of the major third-party games that was supporting the Switch 2 when it dropped. Most often, we’ve heard good things about its performance and as another means to enjoy this gameplay experience on the go. However, if you haven’t picked this game up yet or if you’re planning to pick it up again, it’s worth noting that it has cross-progression support.

Recently, Cyberpunk 2077 developers took to X and reaffirmed that your cross-progression saves will work on the Nintendo Switch 2. All you have to do is load it up, and you’ll spare yourself from starting your Cyberpunk career all over again. If you have a copy of the game already and haven’t set up cloud saves, then it’s a simple process.

Cross-progression saves were introduced back during the 1.6 update for Cyberpunk 2077. You’ll find this option within the settings and under the miscellaneous section. From there, you’ll go through the prompts of either signing into your free GOG account or setting one up to allow your saves to be stored through the cloud.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition players can then pick right back up where they previously left. Meanwhile, in other Cyberpunk 2077-related news, we knew earlier this month that there were plans to release a surprise 2.3 update. We don’t know what the update will offer, but this 2.3 update was recently delayed as developers need more time to ensure the content works as intended.
