Stellar Blade Getting Improved PC Version This June

February 13, 2025 by Todd Black

Plus, a new crossover!

There were several surprise hits in 2024, including ones from teams that hadn’t done certain kinds of gaming content in the past. For example, the team behind the hit title Stellar Blade had been more or less a “gacha” studio, and this was its first time going into the single-player market. To the surprise of many, the title featured not only a deep story but compelling characters and incredible combat that helped it gain not only critical and fan acclaim but also great sales. Since then, the team has been working on crossover content, mainly costumes for their main character. However, at yesterday’s Sony State of Play, a new teaser was dropped.

In it, we not only got a reveal for a PC release but for a crossover with Shift Up’s incredibly successful gacha title, Goddess of Victory: Nikke. You’ll notice the many outfits that Eve can wear below. However, focusing on the PC announcement for a bit, not only is the game coming out in June, but there is also a key reveal at the end highlighting new content for the PC version!

It’s unclear at present just what the new content will be, but it’s definitely story-related and likely will be a build-up of sorts to what a sequel could be, as many suspect it will get one based on the success of the game. Why was the game such a success? There are many factors in that. First, the game was incredibly well-made. It featured stunning visuals, fast-paced combat, and a fun story that begged you to explore the entire game world to see all the secrets within it.

One could also point out that the main character, Eve, was very much “easy on the eyes,” especially with all the various outfits that gamers could put her in, and the way she “moved” in them. That was actually what led to a little bit of controversy within the gaming community before the title’s release, not that the developer minded, as they just kept adding Eve outfits afterwards and those who played the game didn’t mind one bit.

The plot of Stellar Blade focuses on the reclaiming of Earth after humanity is forced out of it by a mysterious alien force. Eve is one of a group that is sent from humanity’s last colony to try and retake the planet. However, as Eve travels along her journey, her past and present collide in unexpected ways, and the truth is far stranger than fiction.
