Are we getting old? Can you believe it’s been a whole decade since the release of Dying Light? That’s quite an accomplishment and milestone for a franchise that continues to see support. Techland is excited to hit this milestone and is celebrating in some notable ways. But beyond that, they are just as excited to kick off the next era of this iconic zombie franchise.
Thanks to Insider Gaming, we’re learning that Techland is already hard at work on multiple projects. For those who don’t know, we have a third installment in the works for Dying Light. That game is actually called Dying Light: The Beast, and if you have been enjoying this franchise, then you might know it’s bringing an iconic character back. This next installment will see the return of the original protagonist, Kyle Crane.
However, that game won’t be the last for the developers. Instead, as noted by Insider Gaming, a press release confirmed that multiple unannounced projects are in the works. Interestingly enough, there’s more in the works than just video games. Of course, that said, video games are coming out beyond the upcoming Dying Light: The Beast, which has yet to be shared with the public.
However, new board games, merchandise, a webcomic series, and more are also said to be in development. So prepare for this IP to continue thriving and reaching more people as the years pass.
Since this is a big milestone event to reach a tenth anniversary, Techland is celebrating by providing new content for Dying Light and its sequel, Dying Light 2. New in-game events should be released throughout the coming weeks to keep you playing.
As for the next installment, Dying Light: The Beast, hasn’t a release date yet. However, the title should launch within this year for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
