Nintendo delighted fans worldwide this month when they finally pulled back the veil on their upcoming Switch successor console. The flood of leaks online proved true as the upcoming Switch 2 console showcased much of what fans had already witnessed. Regardless, it was still nice to see this console confirmed to be released within this calendar year.
So much hype was built around this console, with fans waiting to see when we would get our first showcase. The announcement trailer was a surprise drop, and with it, we learned just a few things about the new console. But those finer details we’re all wondering about are set to take place during a Nintendo Direct presentation this April. There were also preview events confirmed to happen worldwide, giving fans a chance to get a better, up-close look at the console.
Today, thanks to VGC, we’re finding out that several people online are sharing news about receiving an invitation to the event. After signing up to attend one of the events, Nintendo seems to have rolled out the invitations, giving the selected few golden tickets for the preview event. However, that doesn’t mean those who were not picked are out of hope.
VGC notes that a new waitlist will open tomorrow for those who can sign up. This way, if there are any cancellations from those who can’t attend, their tickets will go to another fan who wishes to sit in on the preview event.
Meanwhile, we are eagerly awaiting the upcoming Direct presentation on April 2, 2025. That will further highlight the new console and hopefully showcase some of the games coming out within the launch window. For now, we’ll have to stick with viewing the same announcement trailer.
