Resident Evil fans are waiting to see what Capcom does next. There has been a strong series of remake releases lately alongside new installments in the marketplace. However, what the developers will remake next or where the story will continue after Resident Evil Village is still kept a secret. There are no official details about what the studio has in the works, but that hasn’t stopped rumors from flooding the web. One of which put some supposed details about Resident Evil 9. Now, an industry insider with a strong track record is claiming these rumors are false.
Dusk Golem is an industry insider with a track record of making claims on franchises like Resident Evil. As a result, they have gained quite a following for fans of this beloved survival horror franchise. Recently, the industry insider took to X and revealed that most of the rumors you’re seeing online right now about Resident Evil 9 are false.
If you don’t recall, one rumor that started to spread online noted that players would see the narrative feature Jill Valentine. It was also noted that players would focus on an island to investigate a company that created Eveline. But it might not be worth looking much more into those claims, as Dusk Golem stated that not only are most of these rumors online false, but Jill Valentine doesn’t even play a major role in Resident Evil 9.
So, that’s a hit for Jill fans, and I was hopeful to see her take a more prominent role in this next game. For now, we’re waiting for Capcom to unveil what’s next in store for fans of this franchise. We recently reported on ESRB ratings found on multiple classic Resident Evil games that might soon see a native release for the Xbox Series X/S platform. But again, that has yet to receive any official confirmation from Capcom.
Currently, Resident Evil 4’s remake is the latest game to have released in the marketplace. Meanwhile, the last mainline installment to have come out is Resident Evil Village, an installment that concludes the Ethan Winters story arch.
