Cyberpunk 2077 2.2 Update Focuses On More Customization Options & Camera Features

December 10, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

CD Projekt Red breaks down the surprise update.

Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been waiting for the next installment. We know it’s in the works, but we also know we’re a good way off when it comes to its actual release into the marketplace. So, if you were just hanging around Night City on your countless playthroughs, it might have been surprising to see on your social media feeds that more content is coming to the game. 2.2 has been announced and just released.

It was just yesterday that we got word that Cyberpunk 2077 would receive a 2.2 update. However, what was surprising is that we all believed that CD Projekt Red was done with the game. Most assumed developers moved to other projects, with Cyberpunk 2077 in the rearview mirror. So when it was unveiled that 2.2 was coming, more than a few fans tuned into the stream to see just what this new update would entail.

As reported by IGN, the latest update focuses on customization. One of the big features here is that players can further customize their cars with different paint jobs. Players can capture paint jobs while roaming Night City. From there, they can customize their vehicle on the fly. What makes it a little interesting here is that when the police are hunting you down, you can change the vehicle’s paint color and lower the wanted level. Additionally, you’ll find that ten additional vehicles can be purchased in-game.

Another aspect of the vehicle is that Johnny Silverhand appears in the passenger seat from time to time. This was to ensure players always felt as if they were stuck with Johnny. It’s noted that Johnny won’t appear every time, but he can show up now as you drive around.

Additionally, there were new camera features. On PC, players can use a drone-like camera setup to get new captures, but you can also add some additional NPCs to snap a photo with.

Lastly, players will find that there are some additional customization options for V. So, if you want to tweak your character a little more, you’ll want to check out the new assets. Of course, now fans might be wondering if there will be any other new updates coming our way for the game or if this is the last until Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel manages to make its way into the marketplace.
