Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End includes a fairly elaborate Crash Bandicoot Easter egg. No story spoilers are revealed here but the Easter egg does involve a scene with Drake and Elena so you may want to stop if you’re planning to go in clean.
At one point in the game, Elena urges Drake to play one of her video games. He agrees and picks up the controller connected to a PlayStation One running the original Crash Bandicoot. Part of the system boot-up is also featured.
When Drake begins playing, the game returns control to you and you need to help Crash run downhill, avoiding a boulder in the process. The game scores your attempt and Naughty Dog takes the opportunity to poke some fun at their early game.
You can watch the scene from YouTuber Hexoradon’s channel below.

The Crash Bandicoot series was originally developed by Naughty Dog before the studio was acquired by Sony. Rights to the series now belong to Activision but there hasn’t been a new game in years.
Naughty Dog delayed Uncharted 4 several times and scrapped eight months of work on the project when Amy Hennig left the studio in 2014. She’s now working on an unannounced Star Wars project at EA Visceral with Uncharted 4 being headed up by The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End launches exclusively on PlayStation 4 on May 10th and has been widely lauded by critics, as you can see in our review roundup. For more on Uncharted 4, check out our game tag.
