Nightingale Devs Promise Big Changes Following Poor Reception

August 6, 2024 by Carley Garcia

The devs aren’t satisfied with where the game is, currently.

After releasing into early access six months ago, Nightingale has failed to find its footing. The open-world fantasy survival game has a Mixed reception on Steam, and while many players wanted to like the stunning title, the dev team has their work cut out for them going forward.

In a new video, the CEO of Inflexion Games, Aaryn Flynn, along with the art and audio director Neil Thomson, promise to bring big changes to the title going forward.

“We are not satisfied with where the game is at, we’re not satisfied with the overall sentiment, we’re not satisfied with our player numbers,” said Flynn. THe pair promise that a massive patch will be added to the game later this summer, bringing more structure to Nightingale along with higher build limits. More details will be revealed soon.

Despite hitting an all-time peak player count of 47,500 concurrent players, Nightingale only currently pulls in a few hundred players each day.

In May, Inflexion added an offline mode to the game, a highly-requested feature.

“The introduction of offline mode is a significant milestone in the early access journey and one of many exciting updates we have planned for the coming months. We already feel like we’ve come along leaps and bounds since we launched just three months ago and we look forward to sharing more updates in the future,” said Inflexion Games CEO Aaryn Flynn at the time.

Nightingale is currently available to play on PC in early access.
